I am looking for a full time (or at least 25-30hrs) job that pays $11 or more, is located in Vancouver/Burnaby/New West, and won't require me to work Sundays or past 9pm. I am looking for call center, reception, or animal related work. I have experience in customer service in various positions, including being a team lead and shift lead.

If anyone knows of anyone hiring right now, please let me know.

So far i've applied at Rogers, Fido, Telus, Metrodogs, The Doghouse, Young Drivers of Canada

I am hoping to start a job within the next 3 weeks

thanks

Most decent positions won't hire any faster than that anyways. And if you're not working with that time, then it's not a waste. Any lead on a job is not wasted time.

The only way you're going to get a decent position immediately is if you have a serious inside track. Conventional applications, it's a lot of hurry up and wait.

Although they aren't all posted, all the cities are hiring and I personally know at least 2 people that have recently gotten on with them in jobs that pay double what you say here for reception like work.

The City of Vancouver is an easy place to start but the others probably have similar websites set up.

Oh - also Coast Mountain is looking for people too.

Any reputable call centre or company hiring a receptionist is going to take much longer than a week to hire someone. Be prepared for a two to three week process to work somewhere that is on the up and up.

If you want to work somewhere shady, sketchy and soul sucking, try CBV Collections. They hire same day, and I think the pay is $11 an hour.

Having worked in a collection agency in the thankfully distant past, I can only imagine what CBV's turnover rate is right now. It seems they have ads up on Craigslist every DAY, and in multiple categories, trying to lure suckers into working for their company.

Word to job-seekers: if the ad uses tons on exclamation points and multiple fonts/sizes of fonts in their advertisements to attract the attention of potential employees, avoid them like the plague.

Did you set these time limits yourself? Or was it some external circumstances? Why can't you wait to get something better?
