Okay Vancouver, here's my run down:

My boyfriend is a Vancouver area musician, and I am stuck living in Ontario right now. I want to change that asap, and so I'm looking for an ESL job of some sort. I'm a qualified English teacher, looking to make $20+ an hour for 20+ hours a week. We will probably be living near Lougheed station, and so anything from downtown Van to Coquitlam works.

I've been haunting Craigslist and the Education Canada website, but I know that there have to be a lot of ESL schools out there that I don't know about.

Does anyone have a lead for me? I'm pretty desperate and I'd really, really appreciate it. Cheers.

junior website admin position available immediately

hi guys. i'm leaving my place of employment in august to go to school and i need to replace myself. i've been posting the job up on craigslist but i'm not getting too many promising replies, so i thought i'd try here, too.

i work for a vancouver-based import/export company. we do most of our business online, and we currently have three websites, with plans to scale up.

i'm looking for someone who has a pretty strong knowledge of html and css, because you'll be editing our website by hand in a text editor. you'll also be using an FTP application to update the websites. i don't want any dreamweaver users, you MUST be comfortable editing html by hand! you'll be working with an off-site developer so you should be pretty proficient with this stuff.

you'd also be doing some photo editing and light graphic work, so some experience with photoshop would be an asset.

there are other responsibilities involved but as long as you have a foundation of html/css and photoshop knowledge, i'll be able to train you to do everything else.

position is full-time, 8:30 to 4:30 monday to friday. we're located in vancouver near main and broadway. you get to sit in a chair and get paid a pretty decent wage for a junior web admin position. everyone in the office is pretty chill and you can wear whatever you want. i have piercings and tattoos and my boss is cool with it. it's not stressful work and you never have to work overtime. it's a rad job and i'm sad to be leaving it.

if this sounds like you, send me your resume at malloreigh at shearcomfort dot com.

Student Summer Jobs

Feb. 11th, 2008 | 01:03 am
posted by: _toasterhead in vanjobsearch

Hi all,

I'm a second-year university student who lives in Vancouver, but goes to university in the east. Actually, I moved to Vancouver right before going to university, so I've little experience finding summer jobs there (& I don't have any handy connections either). I was just wondering if anyone knows of companies that typically hire summer students?

I'm a psychology/sociology student, but I know student jobs related to those fields are hard to find, so I'll take any kind of office job. I live in Surrey, which unfortunately isn't that convenient for public transport. I'd prefer a job in Surrey obviously, but I'll commute to Richmond/downtown Vancouver if necessary (& if public transport actually allows for it).

I know of the links in the userinfo, & I'll look into them, but I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions off the top of their heads.

Thanks in advance! :)
